About Us

Alison Palmer, Director of Musical Express

Hello! I’m Alison. I have two children Lilli (10) and Tom (8). I took Lilli along to a Musical Express class when she was 9 months old and never left, taking her and then Tom along to classes until they started school. I started working for Musical Express 7 years ago having always been in choirs and singing at Church, before I had children I sang with Goldsmiths Choral Union performing at the Albert Hall and the Barbican.

The classes we run have form and structure but within these the children are free to experiment, try all the instruments and most importantly have fun – taking on Musical Express feels like a natural progression for me and I look forward to meeting you and your children over the coming year.

Above all, Musical Express aims to make music fun for all!

Jo Clare

Hi, my name is Jo and I run Musical Express at Hillside Church on Mondays and Raynes Park Library on Fridays.

I have a son who is 4 years old and he still loves all the special weekly surprises, especially the Ocean Drums!

I have been playing the piano and flute since I was 4 years old and have always sung in choirs, groups and at my church.

I love Musical Express because we always have such fun and it offers children a full and enjoyable educational experience. I continue to be amazed by how quickly the children respond and learn such important life skills, like listening, copying rhythm and learning to stop!

I’d recommend Musical Express to everyone and I look forward to seeing you at the venues I run.
